Probably for the best, we'll just have to have a little fun while you're still stuck here. [ :nyeh: ] Mind if I have a seat? I brought you some things.

[ because yes, there is a little package of donuts in there, the tiny chocolate ones. and there's also what looks like some apple slices that have been cut into the shape of lil bunnies. they have little dark brown eyes (made of tiny chocolate dots). ]

He scoots over to give Jolyne more space, but he's small enough that there's plenty already anyways. The donuts never fail to make his eyes light up, but the apples...

he can't eat apples or drink tea again without thinking of trials, he thinks ]

and honestly, she was hoping making them a little cute might help the aversion from how trial has ruined. so many things. christ. ]

Yep. I was a real picky kid. Made a lot of trouble for everyone, heh.

[ He smiles a little at that, because that much he can believe

He takes one of the apple slices but just sort of holds it in his hands, gazing down at it. ]

...it sounds like I made a lot of trouble for everybody today, too. Was Ryuki mad?

[ Ryuki was the one who brought him here, but hadn't scolded him on the way. Maybe he's saving that for later, but he'd like to be prepared for it ]

More at... you know. What happened. Not at you in particular, I'm pretty sure. [ the fact that adlet just fucking jabbed hanako with his needle immediately. ] It was scary, I'm not surprised.

[ to be fair, Hanako was right there like "do it. i dare you." ]

Everybody already knew what would happen, though. And if I fell unconscious, that's a good thing.

[ It meant one more step in clearing Adlet's name. ]

[ yeah but u literally shouldn't just do what children tell u like that, adlet. ]

You are way too small to take doses of poison, Hanako... even if I know your bravery's like sixty... no... six-hundred feet tall.

[ What she calls bravery, Reigen called a severely disappointing lack of self-preservation. it all amounts to the same thing, though: he has nothing to preserve. ]

I'm not that small!

[ He might be one of the shortest one here now but he's TIED so it doesn't count ]

...and I didn't want Ryuki or Datz to do it in my place. They're smart. They'd be able to get to the bottom of all of this.

[ Not just Adlet's case, but everything. They're going to need those two, he knows it. ]

They are really smart... I'm glad they're here. They're... good men.

[ softer, thoughtful before she gives him a little smile. ]

There aren't a lot of those, y'know?

Yeah.

[ He looks fond of them, his Mice. ]

Will you help me keep them safe?

[floridas]

[ the mees. she glances down at her phone for a second, then tilts her head, tapping the glass for a second. ]

I can certainly do my best.

[ she is very fond of her birds. so she can understand this. ]

You can trust me, if you need me to watch your backs... alright?

I trust you. Especially look out for Ryuki— he looks like he's about to have a nervous breakdown at all times.

[ look at his poor mouse, he's falling apart ]

He really does, poor guy. You've had a rough week, the three of you... so leave it to me.

[ she's very quiet about this, taking one of his hands if possible in both of hers. ]

I know things are still pretty scary though... so if you ever need to talk about anything either, you can trust me to keep it a secret. [ a wink ] I've got your back.

[ A rough week, and a lot of it is his own fault.

She can take one of his hands. It's cold and riddled with bruises and old scars from what she can see up to the wrist, the rest is covered by the sleeve, but grips hers tightly when she does. ]

Thanks, Jolyne. That means a lot.

[floridas]

[ oh the tight grip. she lowers her head for a moment, looking down at it and closes her eyes. there's a faint smile on her lips before she gives a nod. ]

You always need people to lean on... okay? Sure... we all screw up, but...

[ another, gentle squeeze. ]

We're going to get through this, okay? I've only got these two hands... but I'll do everything I can with them.
