Tried to take all of Clockwork's power for myself so I could control the timeline however I wanted.

No. That was the point. Everything was collapsing in on itself. There wasn't any "going back." Not for me, anyway, not anymore. I existed outside of any timestream. And the universe...really doesn't like that.
