[ all the same, he'll grab the phone out and toss it across the room. and he can try and knee danny in the nuts, but he turns his body (sans the arms) intangible just in time, letting hanako's knee pass through harmlessly while he continues staring pure violence into hanako's eyes.
(if anyone else were to see this right now they'd be appalled to see this teenager absolutely assaulting a tiny child)
anyway, Danny's still choking him! That hasn't stopped being a thing. When he speaks, it's lowly: ]
Listen here, you little brat. If you ever try to pull anything with me again, I will rip every one of your fingers off, one by one, and jam them down your throat and watch you slowly choke to death on them. Do you understand me?
[ stupid human bodies and their need to breathe!! Hanako refuses to nod or say yes or give any indication he's agreeing with any of this, because what can Danny do? Hanako's dead, he's (going back to being) a ghost, he's had much worse than getting de-fingered and that's never stopped him.
What Danny gets is Hanako sticking his tongue out at him, fingernails digging into Danny's wrists trying to pry his hands off his neck: either he can manage to loosen Danny's grip and get some air, or force Danny to intangiblize his hands and let him go ]
[ well, the digging into his wrists isn't pleasant, but he refuses to yield to the pain and let go. Instead, he'll pull Hanako up and away from the wall only to slam him back against it with all the force he can manage. Yes, he is doing all of this while still holding him by the neck. ]
[ His lungs burn and he has to resist the urge to cough because he needs what little air he has left, but still he refuses to respond, teeth gritted, nails digging, legs still kicking though he can feel himself getting weaker
vibes are more annoyed than angry. Danny's a crybaby just like he is, so he can't see him as a real threat.
[ yells in disgust and reflexively slams hanako against the wall one more time, before throwing him down to the floor so he can scrub the spit out of his face ]

and then he tries to cover his shock like he's still all cool and collected and ~evil~
it's time to wrap this up before it goes any further south. ]

[ He gets what Danny's trying to say, but that doesn't convince him that Danny can kill him. Choke him, kick him while he's down, sure. If he were serious about it, he'd pull Hanako's heart out of his chest right now, squeeze it until it bursts.
Hanako opens his mouth, but kaijus can't talk. Instead, he responds by blasting fire at Danny's direction- intangible or not, there has to be a limit to his powers, and Hanako will find it even if it means burning down the entire building in the process. ]
[ well while he's doing that, danny's going to leave, because he figures making a dramatic mysterious exit while hanako's busy breathing fire is better than dragging this out any longer and making himself look any weaker against this kaiju.
there is indeed a limit to his intangibility, but it has not been reached, so when hanako stops, he will find no crispy corpse! ]

Intangible doesn't mean invisible, though, so Danny slipping through walls is just Hanako smashing through them two seconds later in hot pursuit. He's not stopping. He can keep this up for maybe an hour. ]
Danny is literally dooming every building he tries to hide behind because Hanako can't fit in the alleyways but he sure can shoot fire down the length of it. Meanwhile Hanako is living his stompy, fire-blasting kaiju dreams. Danny can feel this stupid childish sense of destructive joy emanating from the monster chasing him. ]
well i forgot that the movie theater is in the mall so i guess danny is actually running through the mall as hanako rampages. which means that he'll run into the book store...and then take a hard right into whatever unrelated store is next door, where he'll then try to run through the back wall and out of sight while Hanako is catching up ]
[ OH NO OUR MALL... OUR BOOKS!!!! they're really just doing this in broad daylight while patrons are screaming and running for their lives.
Joy gives way to a sort of... contemplative nostalgia, of Hanako's very first murder here which also involved breaking into the book store and upending half the shelves. I think there's a parking lot on the other side he can escape to while Hanako is busy reenacting the burning of the Library of Alexandria. ]
[ yeah he's fuckin outta here, he's booking it to the SUPER and going elsewhere, because the faster he vanishes, the more he can maintain a threatening aura of mystery
