That's not a bad idea. The prison might be safe in the case of an all out attack... I bet there are other places like that, too. Sounds like the mayor isn't the guy actually in charge, so - wherever the people actually in charge are hiding out, they're probably using the same technology as the prison.
...I'm not sure they lied, Hanako. Snake never described this person as their leader. Just someone they get information from, like the information about this competition. It's my speculation that this is a person calling the shots.

Anyway, all I know is that they're getting this shady info from someone they've never actually met, and that in the past they've been pretty reasonable, but suddenly started being really unreasonable around the time we showed up. So it seems pretty suspicious to me.
Why listen to this person at all, if they're suddenly so different? It's not like the leaders have to, unless they can't disobey. Like... if this person is the one threatening everybody's homes.

I don't know. I think they got good intel from this person before, and didn't expect them to start being so difficult. It's possible they just made a mistake and trusted in the wrong person.
I don't think any of their intel has been trustworthy. And it's fine to be angry at them for that, because this situation is cruel and they have claimed to be responsible for us but haven't stepped up and have only failed to predict how bad it was going to get. But I don't think Mouse has done anything to hurt you on purpose, you know?
Can I ask you something? Are you the kind of person who is used to being more powerful than most people they meet? Or are you just like this out of sheer stubbornness?
